About the sensitivity test

This test is based on Sensory Processing Sensitivity — a well-documented temperament trait most widely studied by psychologist Dr. Elaine Aron, found in roughly 15–20% of people (and in over 100 other species). It measures how deeply your nervous system processes incoming stimulation across three dimensions: how easily you become overwhelmed by demands and multitasking, how strongly you respond to beauty and subtle detail, and how sensitive your body is to physical stimulation like noise, light, and texture.

Unlike a lot of sensitivity content that treats it as a single yes-or-no label, your results give you a full breakdown across all three dimensions, plus a genuine, in-depth profile — not just a score, but what it actually looks like in your relationships, your work, and your day-to-day life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Highly Sensitive Person?
A Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) has a nervous system that processes sensory and emotional information more deeply than average. It's a normal temperament trait, not a diagnosis or disorder, and it comes with both real strengths — deep empathy, rich inner life, strong perceptiveness — and real challenges, like getting overwhelmed more easily by noise, crowds, or demands.
Is this test scientifically based?
It's inspired by Dr. Elaine Aron's research on Sensory Processing Sensitivity, one of the most studied temperament traits in personality psychology. This test is designed for self-reflection and insight, not as a clinical diagnostic tool.
How long does the test take?
About 4 minutes — 27 questions, answered one at a time on a five-point scale.
Is being highly sensitive the same as being introverted?
No, though they often overlap. Around 30% of HSPs are actually extroverted. Sensitivity is about how deeply you process stimulation; introversion/extroversion is about where you get your energy from.
Can I retake the test later?
Yes — your sensitivity may show up differently depending on stress, sleep, and life circumstances, so it's worth retaking every so often.
