The Line
Line 4 is the Opportunist, and it operates through established networks of trust. Unlike Line 3, which experiments broadly, Line 4 plants roots. These people need to know the people they work with and influence. Their opportunities come through their community — through people who already know them and trust them. Cold outreach doesn't work well for Line 4; warm, established relationship does.
Strengths
Natural ability to build and maintain community. A warmth and reliability that makes others trust them. Opportunities that arise organically through genuine relationship.
Challenges
Being too rigid about who is in the network (and who isn't). Difficulty taking risks that require stepping outside the known community. The transition between one network and another can be particularly disorienting.
Relationships
Friendship and committed relationship are central to the Line 4 life. These people often find their partners and collaborators through existing social networks.
