About This Center

The Spleen is one of the three awareness centers and the oldest in evolutionary terms. It operates through instinct, immune response, and in-the-moment knowing. Its awareness is not conceptual (like the Ajna) or emotional (like the Solar Plexus) — it's physical, immediate, and survival-oriented. When it has something to say, it says it once and then falls silent. Listening to the Spleen requires being present in the body in the present moment.

When Defined

You have consistent access to physical instinct and immune awareness. Your body-knowing is reliable and characteristically yours. You may have a strong sense of what feels physically "right" or "off" in a situation, even before you can articulate why.

When Open

Your instinctual awareness fluctuates and you take in and amplify Splenic energy from others. You may be highly attuned to others' health and fear-states. The trap is holding on to people and situations that don't feel good out of fear (which lives in the Spleen).

Open Center Not-Self Theme

Staying in relationships or situations that feel consistently "off" out of fear; taking on others' fear states as your own; ignoring the quiet physical knowing.

The Open Center's Wisdom

The open Spleen develops deep wisdom about fear, health, survival, and instinct — having felt so many different flavors of Splenic awareness that it can navigate them with unusual skill.
